Dragon Fruit- A new cuisine

We shopped at the outdoor market this week. Lots of shops selling fruit, meat, clothes, toys. One of the strangest was dragon fruit. The attached pictures show what it looks like whole, peeled. and cut in two. The fruit is sweet, with the seeds giving it a crunchy taste. We actually like it quite well.

Yay! You did it! I am glad that you like it!
We fell in love with Dragon Fruit while we were in Taiwan, and Maya could eat a whole one even at 8 months old, now she has to settle for Kiwi (which she she will eat not stop!)
Now you have me craving it!
WE LOVE YOU!

See if you can't find some lychee fruit too- that sure is different. I also tried pamellos while in China, which was like a big grapefruit that you peel! What fun! Do you have street vendors selling eggs hard boiled in tea? What about cooking strange things from the ocean you don't recognize (or care for the smell of). Don't eat the cut pineapple and cut fruit from the street vendors- it is often soaking in less- than clean water. But, then again, I would suspect that hong kong is cleaner than Shanghai. What an adventure!
